To operate and maintain On-Track Machines to ensure that the Network Rail contract is fulfilled in terms of reliability and availability. The role will be reporting to the Operations Team leader giving technical support on maintenance issues and liaising with the Maintenance department. The role will be responsible for completing detailed reports of any failures/ breakdowns for both the operations and maintenance department.

To drive, operate and maintain “on track” machines in a safe manner, in accordance with the Competency Based Standards for Operator Driver Maintainers, and in accordance with the Colas Rail Railway Safety Case.

Lead, develop and deliver a world class engineering service and systems to ensure the effective and safe operation of Colas Rail and our customer’s fleet of railway rolling stock including Locomotives, wagons and specialist On Track Plant and other associated equipment, improving safety, utilisation, reliability, compliance, innovation, cost and revenue.

Support the current Freight Services operation and new business in the efficient timetabling and operation of trains on Network Rail infrastructure. Ensuring the best needs of Colas Rail and our clients are met.
