Electrification related activity with the railway industry is a strategic market for Colas Rail and the company has a long successful record of delivering work of this nature for Network Rail.

 
     
 

Colas Rail has built an experienced team with the ability to deliver both HV and LV Works at multiple sites. The securing of the BJ54 contract further increased Colas Rail’s portfolio of E&P projects.

 
     
     
  Project Description  
     
 

The work is confined to five electric traction supply sub stations, all within the Network Rail South East Territory. These are at Bedfont Road, Teddington, Upper Halliford,Worcester Park and Wraysbury.

For each sub station:

• D.C. switchgear replaced: including traction supply system cables and associated track feeder cabling, battery chargers, batteries and connections, remote frame leakage protection with extension to the substation earth system, inter tripping and SCADA modifications.

• Design, installation and commissioning • Connect new equipment to existing SCADA system

• Remove and disposal of redundant materials

• Arrangement of possession/switch-outs where necessary.
