Personal Track Safety
To train new starters in the basic safety principals of
working on or near the line within the railway environment.
Lookout / Site Warden
To train Lookouts and Site Warden – Ensures that staff remain
within the boundaries specified by the COSS.
Individual Working Alone
To train staff in the ability to set up and maintain a safe
system of work whilst working alone or near the line.
Controller of Site Safety
To set up and maintain a safe system of work within the
railway environment for a group of people.
Protection Controller
To train staff to arrange a T2 possession.
Engineering Supervisor
To train staff to set up a worksite within a T3 possession.
Person In Charge of Possession
To train staff in the procedures and standards to enable
him/her to take charge of possessions.
Auxiliary Operating Duties (AOD) - Hand Signaling
To train staff in the procedures to be able to perform the
duties required for T2 and Signaling protection.
Auxiliary Operating Duties (AOD) - Points Operator
To train staff to be competent to manually operate types of
points.
Auxiliary Operating Duties (AOD) - Level Crossing
Train staff to operate barriers within a T3 possession or
barrier failure.
Track Induction
To train new starters in the identification of rail tools and
components prior to be deployed on the track.
