Position:- OLE Design Engineer

Location:- Manchester

Reporting to:- OLE Design Manager

Ref:- NRB5

Purpose of job

To produce Overhead Line design drawings and documentation according to experience.

Key accountabilities

• Production of OLE Layout plans and cross sections to form EA and EB level.
• Analysis of Heights and Staggers.
• Allocation of OLE materials from OLEMI and UK1 ranges.
• Site visits/surveys.
• Ensure that documentation is produced and delivered in accordance with the quality and programme requirement.
• Provide technical and administrative support to the Design Team Leader.
• Provide on site technical support to Construction Staff to ensure installation is accordance with design.


Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Minimum of HNC/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering.
• Experience of Microstation and/or AutoCAD CAD package desirable.
• Holder of PTS desirable.
• Network Rail Accreditation for OLE Design and Checking desirable.
• Knowledge of Network Rail Standards

Other information

• Will be based in the Manchester, but must be prepared to travel throughout UK to provide technical support to Construction Activities.

Will on occasion be required to work nights and weekends to support construction activities.
