Position:- Signalling Designer
Location:- Wimbledon, South London
Reporting to:- Engineering Manager
Ref:- SRB6
Purpose of job
To produce and independently check signalling design details according to experience.
Key accountabilities
• To produce and independently check Signalling Design details broadly in the form of Scheme / Signalling plans, Control Tables, location diagrams, cable core plans, power schematics and interlocking wiring produced under his / her control ensuring adherence to all AMEC Spie Rail and Client standards. .
• Assist with Signalling infrastructure condition assessment surveys and site surveys as directed potentially in association with other engineering disciplines and client representatives.
• Assist with the feasibility review and development of new projects.
• Assist in activities associated with the testing and commissioning and the provision of design cover of signalling projects during the commissioning phase.
• To deputise for Senior Design Engineer as required (experience permitting)
• To ensure that the signalling design is delivered in compliance with the appropriate Standards in a safe, quality and cost effective way
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience
• Minimum of HNC/Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• At least 5 years experience within the Signal Engineering Industry, including at least 3 years design experience and holding or working towards IRSE Designer (1.1.150) and Design Verifier (1.1.160) Licences.
• Membership of IET and IRSE desirable
• Management and use of appropriate CAD design packages.
• Sound working knowledge of main rail industry
