Colas Rail has been a keen ambassador of the National College for High Speed Rail since its inception, sharing our knowledge of delivering High Speed Rail and promoting the college throughout the rail industry and in a bid to enhance the training facilities to ensure that candidates have the opportunity to work in a life like environment we have donated OLE equipment from our current High Speed Rail Scheme in Morocco.

A team from the Colas Rail Overhead Line Department have installed a high speed training span at the National College for High Speed Rail in Birmingham. The equipment installed is the same as that installed by Colas Rail on the High Speed Line in Morocco, the first high speed rail line in Africa.

The OLE team led by Munaf Ally, Production Manager – Infrastructure, who was instrumental in planning the logistic in delivering the equipment from Morocco to the UK said, “It has been a fantastic learning opportunity for our trainee linesman to be involved in such a worthy project and we hope the training span will be a great educational tool for the many apprentices that will pass through the college.”

In a letter of thanks from the High Speed Rail College Clair Mowbray, Chief Executive said. “I wanted to write personally to thank you for your support on our journey so far. While many organisations have contributed, I believe that without the contribution of Colas Rail Ltd we truly would not be where we are today.”
